I build the systems that keep a business running.

I'm an operations director who also runs the IT. I sit in the gap between how a company works and the tools it works on, and I close it.

What I do

Six things, one job: make the business easier to run.

01

Microsoft 365 and Entra

Tenant admin, identity, devices and SharePoint, set up so people can just get on with it.

02

Workflow automation

monday.com, Power Automate and portals that join up the systems a team already uses.

03

Data protection

GDPR lead for a paperless business. Records, policies and the practical bits in between.

04

Going international

New entities, local compliance and work permits for teams moving into new countries.

05

Management systems

ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 brought together in one integrated system people actually use.

06

Practical AI

Clear policy first, then agents and tools that take real work off people's desks.

Compliance across borders

One business. 19 countries. Every one with its own rules.

Setting up in a new country isn't one job, it's dozens of small ones in the right order. This is how I break it down.

milestones

The four milestones of a new country

Incorporation

Pick the right structure first: a local company, a branch of an existing one, or an employer of record while you test the market. Then the local registers, directors and registered address.

Before any of it: find a good local agent. The right person on the ground saves weeks.

Country notes

Europe

Germany

Rules change often. These are notes from experience, not legal advice.

"Send people who are already compliant in the country they're going to. Don't try to make them compliant by a deadline."

The advice I give most often

    Integrated management system

    One Best Way.

I designed and implemented a full integrated management system, known as the One Best Way. Quality, environment and health and safety in one system, so people follow one process instead of three.

    ISO 9001

    Quality

Clear processes, controlled documents and checks that make sure work is done right first time.

    ISO 14001

    Environment

Knowing the business's environmental impact, and the controls and targets to reduce it.

    ISO 45001

    Health and safety

Risk assessment, incident and near miss reporting, and keeping people safe on site.

    What "integrated" means

    • One set of policies
    • One document library
    • One audit programme
    • One management review

    Selected work

    Problem. What I built.

Examples from a global engineering services firm. Details kept general.

    WordPress · monday.com

    Supplier onboarding portal

Problem: supplier details arrived by email and lived in spreadsheets.
Built: a self-serve portal that feeds a single supplier register.

    Power Automate · Timesheets

    Line manager sync

Problem: timesheet approvers drifted out of date as teams changed.
Built: a nightly flow that copies line managers across automatically.

    SharePoint · Onboarding

    New starter portal

Problem: onboarding packs were long, generic and easy to lose.
Built: a personal online link for every new starter.

    Policy · GDPR

An AI policy people actually read

Problem: staff were using AI tools with no clear rules.
Built: a plain-English acceptable use policy and the records behind it.

    Off the clock

I build things for fun too.

At home I tinker with custom hardware projects. Same habit as work: take something fiddly and make it simple.
